Applicable to both mbezibeach.co.tz and mbezibeach.org
Last updated: 02 April 2026
This notice explains how JMMBA collects, uses, stores, shares, protects, and retains personal data through its websites, member systems, forms, community programmes, and related administrative processes.

1. Who we are

JMMBA is a community association based in Dar es Salaam. For privacy matters, the current contact point is [email protected] and telephone +255 752 181 988. JMMBA has designated a Data Protection Officer for compliance coordination.

2. Scope of this notice

This notice applies to personal data collected through the websites, member request and claim forms, member login and profile pages, contribution and payment workflows, business listing submissions, contact or complaint forms, tickets, event media collection, and other official JMMBA processes.

3. What data we may collect

4. Why we collect personal data

5. Lawful and limited use

JMMBA collects only data that is reasonably necessary for a specific purpose. Submission of data for internal review does not automatically mean consent for public publication. Public display of phone numbers, email addresses, images, names, household details, or similar information is handled separately and only where clearly permitted or otherwise lawfully justified.

6. Public website versus internal member data

JMMBA keeps member administration data separate from public website and business listing data. Member records, statements, payment histories, household details, and internal administrative records are not treated as public website content.

7. Sharing of personal data

JMMBA may share personal data only where necessary for service delivery, legal compliance, security, hosting, approved payment verification, or operational support. JMMBA does not sell personal data. Uncontrolled sharing through informal channels is not permitted.

8. Cookies and session use

JMMBA does not currently use analytics, advertising, behavioural tracking, or marketing cookies. The sites may still use essential session or security cookies that are strictly necessary for login, session continuity, form security, and basic website functionality.

9. Retention

JMMBA keeps records only for as long as reasonably necessary for membership administration, governance, dispute management, audit, legal compliance, project accountability, or approved archival purposes. Detailed internal retention rules are maintained separately.

10. Security

JMMBA applies role-based access, strong-password controls, session controls, limited administrative access, secure configuration, backups, and audit-oriented handling of key records. Absolute security cannot be guaranteed, but reasonable measures are applied to reduce risk.

11. Your rights

You may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, clarification of how your information is used, and other privacy assistance through the official contact point. Requests should be made through formal channels rather than informal messaging.

12. Cross-border processing

If hosting, email routing, backup, or other website services result in data being processed outside Tanzania, JMMBA will assess the legal basis and safeguards applicable to that processing.
